Preperation and Expectations for the Residential Roofing Process

Share |

PLEASE KEEP SMALL CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY FROM THE WORK AREA UNTIL THE SITE IS COMPLETELY CLEANED.

The roofing process is a loud and noisy process. The roofers usually start early in the morning. While roofing, there will be hammering and pounding. It might be a good idea to plan a day away from your home while the job is in progress.

There will be vibrations from the activity on your home. These vibrations can shake items from shelves and walls. We highly advise you to remove any loose items from your walls or shelves such as pictures, plates or figurines.

Please remove anything breakable from around the exterior of your home such as lawn furniture, potted plants or statues. We will move what you are not able to move yourself. We will take every precaution to protect your plants, trees and shrubs; however some leaves or blooms may be knocked off from falling debris.

We may need to use your power for some of our tools. Please have an active electrical outlet available for our saws. The power that we use is very minimal.

Please move your cars, boats motorcycles and any vehicles away from the home. If your garage has no ceiling, dust and debris will fall into the garage so it is not safe to leave your vehicles, lawn mowers etc.. in the garage. At very least please cover these items, or remove them if possible.

Dust will fall into your attic and sometimes will come into your house from around skylights. If you use your attic for storage, and around your skylights, you will want to cover anything valuable with sheets.

We will need to use your driveway for temporary material and debris storage.

There will be several trucks coming and going throughout the process of the roofing job.

Rotten wood may be replaced on the roof structure so that the new roofing may be properly replaced. It is impossible to predict how much wood may need to be replaced, if any, until the roof is torn off.

Nails that fall from the roof will be picked up with a magnetic roller. In addition your landscape will be raked and swept. However it is always a good idea to double check on our cleanup and make sure we haven't missed anything.

The Reliable American team will work together to make sure your project goes as smoothly as possible and with the least amount of inconvenience for you and your family.
